A recent job overhauling a old 624 Sanderson.
A common fault with these Perkins engine models is engine mounting bolts breaking, the bolt head often rolls under the tin sump and the engine drops down on to it making a hole in the sump.
The engine was removed and new sump fitted along with timing case gaskets, crank shaft oil seals. The mounting bracket was modified to include extra bolts in addition to the originals, bolts were also upgraded to 12.9 grade.
The front axle was also found to be in a bad state so this also received a full refurb including a service exchange main casing, wear to the king pins and bearings is common on these Carraro axles, Often the lower bearings break up and wear the axle casings. We carry all the required parts in stock to repair these including a couple of service exchange axle casings which we have re machined with a steel top hat sleeve welded in.
Variations of these Carraro axles are fitted to many Sanderson, Matbro and some Manitou machines and they all suffer the same.
